Nestor Perkal, born in 1951, is a multidisciplinary creator who has been based in France since 1978. As a designer, interior architect, set designer and artistic director, he has been developing a remarkably prolific body of work for over 45 years. In Paris, he opened several galleries and played a key role in raising the profile of the Memphis group in France. His work is also characterised by a deep interest in traditional craftsmanship, which he seeks to reinterpret through a contemporary lens. This led him to collaborate with Lou Fagotin.

Founded in 1986 by Lucien Cassat, the company Lou Fagotin showcased chestnut wood, once regarded as the ‘wood of the poor’. He developed original furniture using untreated wood, sometimes left with its bark intact. His unique approach gradually won over leading designers such as Christian Liaigre, Rena Dumas and Castelbajac, giving rise to a collection of contemporary furniture.
